Small Biedermeier Chest
#8053FP. Circa 1830. German States or Austrian Empire. Flame walnut with ebonizing - pine secondary wood - hand-wrought solid brass ormulu escheons with 2 original keys. There is nothing more useful than a small or bachelor-sized chest. They can fill so many spots: server in the dining room, bedside table, hall console, or living room side table. It's a real plus when they are as beautiful as this one. The top drawer of this chest was adapted to hold silver and placemats in the early 20th century. The other drawers are original. The ornate Louis XVI hardware is a great contast to the sleek look of the piece. Very good condition - cleaned and some restoration by us - old repairs - old French polish restored. Height: 34", Width: 33.25", Depth: 20.25". $5,500.00.
