Early Nine-Drawer Chest
#8170FZ. Circa 1715. England. English Oak with solid brass hardware. This chest has had expert restoration by a master craftsman. The restored French polish enhances the beautiful grain of the now-300-year-old wood, taken from an oak tree that was probably already growing when Columbus discovered America. All front and side feet appear to be original, but the inside back feet are replaced. The hand-cast solid brass replacement hardware was put on around 1880. The piece is rare, beautiful, and highly functional. Very good condition - minor old and new repairs commensurate with age. Height: 34.5", Width: 82.25", Depth: 25". $9,500.00.
