Napoleon III Cylinder Desk

#763FP. Circa 1860. France. Mahogany with mahogany veneer, hand cast brass mounts and trim, Italian marble top, and "Russian Leather" style writing surface. This Louis XVI Style desk is a very old and faithful copy of an 18th century design. It has a pull-out writing surface and fitted interior. The figured grain on the beautiful cylinder and the hand cast gallery rail add distinction to the piece. Very good condition with old and recent repairs and some losses on writing surface and around locks. Restored French polish. All hardware and locks are original, and locks are in working order. The marble top has minor losses and very old cracks. 43" tall x 38" wide x 18 3/4" deep. $5,500.00.
