Hepplewhite Butler's Desk
#7727FP. Circa 1790. Baltimore, Maryland. Mahogany and mahogany veneer with satinwood inlay, mahogany and poplar secondary wood. Excellent example of an 18th century American cabinetmaker's work. Pullout butler's desk with fitted interior. Outstanding oak leaf inlay on skirt. Faux drawer motif on front of butler's desk. Hand cast brass pulls are 1930's replacements; all other hardware appears to be original. Very good condition with excellent patina. Old repairs and patches, older French polish.
