Chinese Chippendale Console
#6898FN. Circa 1750. England. Mahogany with pine secondary wood. Plate glass cover for top included if desired. This handsome piece with excellent Chinese style deep fretwork on 3 sides of the skirt is probably the work of a cabinetmaker in a smaller town or cathedral town. It has been cut down from what was originally a larger (wider and possibly taller) table. However, all parts appear to be original to the piece. The insides of the plain legs are canted. The piece has a wonderful patina. Very good condition, very sturdy. Newer French polish finish, old and newer repairs. Height: 30", Width: 60", Depth: 21". $7,500.00.
