Hepplewhite Serpentine Card Table (Games Table)
#8011FP. Circa 1790. Probably Massachusetts. Mahogany and flaming mahogany veneer with flaming birch and ebony inlay -- ash and birch secondary woods. Old French polish. Original brass hinges. This Federal or neoclassic table is an excellent example of an early American cabinetmaker's work, interpreting English Hepplewhite designs. A gate-leg swings out to support the top when it is open. Very good condition, with beautiful patina. Height: 30" closed (29" open), Width: 36", Depth: 18" (closed). $3,900.00.
