Classical Swan Pier Mirror

#7733PB. Circa 1820. Continental. Mahogany and mahogany veneer with gold leaf and gilt. Pine and fruitwood secondary woods. Old glass possibly a replacement. This striking Empire mirror has an excellent hand-carved swan with shell in the upper panel. The back and the hand-forged top ring appear to be original; the glass is old and if it is replaced it was done a long time ago. Most of the gold leaf and gilt work is original. Very good condition - recently restored - old and new repairs - minor losses to the side of the crown - good patina. Height: 50", Width: 25". $2,500.00.
